Restaurant & Dining Hotspots in San Diego

Every traveler will tell you that they know of some great places to eat that they have experienced in their journeys. There are those local’s favorites and those “hidden gems” that you can’t wait to return to the next time you visit. We did some research, and we have found for you some of the best places to eat in San Diego.

You can find just about any style of food you are craving in San Diego. The choices seem endless. There are a variety of restaurants ranging from fresh seafood and traditional Mexican dishes to Asian and Italian cuisine to German and Californian Nuevo.

A favorite destination for fine dining in San Diego, is in La Jolla. La Jolla is the perfect place to spend your day as it offers luxurious accommodations as well as some of San Diego’s greatest dining options. One such local favorite at La Jolla Cove is the incredibly romantic restaurant George’s at the Cove.

The historic Gaslamp Quarter which can be found in the downtown area of the city, offers a variety of great restaurants. The premier entertainment, shopping and dining district opened is the popular Gaslamp Quarter. This neighborhood will offer you not only food and fun but culture as well. The buildings here bear the mark of the Victorian style and you will have the possibility to choose from over ninety restaurants offering cuisine from around the world. Not far from here you can find the luxurious Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego which provides waterfront dining at Sally’s Seafood on the Water as well as a buffet, a coffee house and deli. A few local’s favorites include Asti Ristorante (Italian), Rei do Gado and McCormick and Schmick’s.

Old Town is another favorite spot for Tourists to experience the early Mexican and American periods of 1821 and 1872 as well as dine on some of San Diego’s best traditional Mexican cuisine, like Fred’s Mexican Café, a local’s favorite.
