Julian Mountain
Julian is the place to go during the weekend. Tired family from work usually take a drive or spend a few wonderful days in the back country, and the mountain town of Julian is one of the best destination to rest and enjoy nature.
In the past Gold was discovered here in 1870. There are still few restored historic 19th century wooden buildings in the main street. They help to bring back the atmosphere of those days
Today tourists come here during the vacation or weekends instead of gold-diggers. In autumn, the "Apple Days" of October attract many visitors, who come to taste a wonderful Julian's apple pie and buy some souvenirs and observe nature.
People who wonder how it was here few centuries ago should visit the Julian Pioneer Museum. It has many curiosities and photographs evoking the town's history. Visitors can also explore inside the original gold mine at the Eagle and High Peak Mines.
