The Japanese Friendship Garden, named "San-Kei-En," is translated as "Three Scene Garden", representing water, pastoral, and mountain. Named in honor of the San-Kei En Garden in Yokohama, this garden signifies the ties between the people of San Diego and Yokohama. This garden is guided by the original principles of the Japanese garden, while at the same time incorporating the local climate and regional landscape of San Diego. With its tranquility and beauty, the life of the garden continues to deepen visitors' respect for the environment and cultural arts. Within this garden you will find a gentle koi pond, the Exhibit House, and Tea Pavilion. A visit to the Japanese Friendship Garden is sure to bring about a calming experience.
