

This gorgeous 2,200-acre (890 ha) preserve is rich with California most scenic forest trails, grown by beautiful redwoods and also giant ferns, and surrounded by eye appealing creeks.
Many Tourists can spot abalone divers diving in the coastal areas of the park. For everybody who adores hiking, jogging through the astonishing countryside, the Fern Canyon Trail is the right place. It is one of the best trails in the park so be sure to check it out.
Another favorite Visitors spot when coming to Van Damme is the unique Pygmy Forest, rich with old, stunted trees. Because of lack of water and rain and poor soil many small trees that grow no taller than about 4 ft (1.2 m) can be found here.
The Pygmy Forest is located 3 miles (5 km) north of the Van Damme State Park. It is accessible on foot or by car.
